Program Philosophy
It is the philosophy of the Technology and 
Learning Center Program to provide habilitative training through activities designed to enhance and stimulate an individual's interests and choices while improving identified needs. The TLC Program is designed with emphasis on learning in a center-based environment and application through community classes and outings. The primary goal is to assist individuals to acquire attitudes, skills, interests and related knowledge to help him/her develop to their fullest potential and improve their quality of life.
This philosophy is based on the following:
- The TLC Program will provide a learning environment which new skills can be learned, refined or relearned.
- The TLC Program will provide active treatment for all individuals enrolled to increase functional skills and abilities through learning and direct application.
- The TLC Program is designed to help individuals increase personal independence, communication, social skills, adaptive skills and the use of assistive technology toward personal independence, vocational preparation and career advancement.
