The Developmental Center of the Ozarks (formerly United Cerebral Palsy of Southwest Missouri) has been in business since becoming incorporated in October, 1954. What be small program serving children with cerebral palsy in borrowed quarters has grown to an agency serving more than 800 infants, children and adults daily with developmental disabilities from southwest Missouri.
During the last 54 years DCO has experienced many changes. Programs have been expanded, new teaching methods adopted, and a more diverse population has been served. But the guiding principle of all these years has remained constant - to help individuals with special needs and their families through the hard times . . . to lend expertise to help develop bodies, minds and spirits to their fullest potential.
